There was a very popular lido on Twickenham Riverside for many years.

Funding for building the lido has been promised to Twickenham Alive – it would not be a cost to the tax payer.

The lido would be run by a company which has renovated lidos and has a successful lido business model – it would be sustainable. The lido would operate throughout the whole year; the Bristol model used has an average 450 visitors a day.

The lido complex would provide facilities for community activities.

A lido on Twickenham Riverside would be welcomed by sporting bodies. The swimming pool could provide a base for other sports such as Triathlon (e.g, running, cycling and swimming)
